Complete house demolition for knock-down rebuilds and site clearance
Ademco Solutions demolishes houses, garages, sheds and outbuildings across Sydney and the Blue Mountains. We are based in Penrith, run our own excavators and handle the whole job from the first inspection to a clean, level site.
Most of our demolition work is for homeowners doing a knock-down rebuild and for builders who need a block cleared by a set date. We check for asbestos before anything comes down, control dust and noise while we work, sort and remove all the waste, and hand back a site that is ready for the next stage.

What to expect when we demolish your house
Most house demolitions in Sydney are knock-down rebuilds: an older home coming down to make way for a new one. Once your approvals are in place and the power, gas, water and phone are disconnected, our crew arrives with the excavator and the job usually runs over a few days.
Any asbestos comes out first, properly wrapped and disposed of, because it has to be gone before the structure is touched. The house is then taken down in a controlled sequence with water on hand to keep the dust down, and materials are separated as they come out so concrete, brick, steel and timber can be recycled instead of going to landfill.
By the end the slab, footings and any paths or driveway you want gone are removed, the block is levelled and the site is left clean for your builder. You get one contractor and one quote for the whole thing, from the first look at the site to the handover.

House demolition FAQs
How much does house demolition cost in Sydney?
It depends on the size and construction of the house, how easy the site is to access, whether asbestos is present and what needs to happen with the slab and footings. We inspect first and give you a free, itemised quote so you can see exactly what is included.
Do I need council approval to demolish a house?
Yes. In NSW, demolishing a house needs either a complying development certificate from a private certifier or a development application through your council. We can point you to a certifier and tell you what they will need from us.
How long does a house demolition take?
Once approvals are in place and services are disconnected, a typical single-storey house takes two to four days on site, including removal of the waste. Asbestos removal, large slabs or tight access add time, and we confirm the timeframe in your quote.
What about asbestos in the house?
Any house built before 1990 is likely to contain asbestos, and it has to be removed and disposed of properly before demolition begins. We handle this as part of the job, so you are not dealing with two contractors.
Do you remove the concrete slab and footings?
Yes. We can remove the slab, footings, driveways, paths and pool shells, and leave the site level and ready for your builder. Tell us what your builder needs and we will quote it that way.
