Safe, professional asbestos removal for homes and building sites

Ademco Solutions provides safe, compliant and professional asbestos removal across Sydney and the Blue Mountains. We are based in Penrith and have the experience, equipment and training to get the job done properly.

Most homes built before 1990 contain some asbestos, usually in fibro walls, eaves, bathroom and laundry linings, roofs or fences. Whether it is a single sheet in a garage or a whole house before demolition, we contain the area, remove the material safely, dispose of it at a licensed waste facility and leave the site clean.

Why asbestos removal needs to be done properly

Asbestos was used in thousands of building products in Australia until the late 1980s, and it is still in a large share of the homes across Penrith, the Blue Mountains and western Sydney. Left alone and in good condition it is generally low risk. The danger comes when it is cut, drilled, broken or removed carelessly, which releases fibres that cannot be seen and are harmful when breathed in.

That is why the method matters more than the material. We isolate the work area, wet the material down to suppress dust, remove sheets whole wherever possible rather than breaking them, wrap and label everything on site and take it to a facility licensed to accept asbestos waste. The area is then cleaned and checked before it is handed back.

If you are renovating, demolishing or have simply found a damaged sheet in a shed or under the eaves, call us before anyone touches it. A quick inspection and an honest answer costs nothing.

Asbestos removal FAQs

How much does asbestos removal cost in Sydney?

The cost depends on the type and amount of asbestos, where it is and how easy the site is to access. A few fibro sheets from a garage is a very different job to a full roof. We inspect first and give you a free, no-obligation quote with everything itemised, so there are no surprises.

Can I remove asbestos myself?

In NSW a homeowner can legally remove less than 10 square metres of bonded (non-friable) asbestos, but SafeWork NSW recommends using a licensed removalist for any amount. Anything larger must be removed by a licensed removalist, and friable asbestos must be removed by a Class A licensed removalist. Given the health risk and the disposal rules, most people find it is not worth the gamble.

How long does it take?

Most residential jobs, such as a garage, a bathroom or a run of eaves, take a day. A full roof or a whole house before demolition usually takes two to three days. We confirm the timeframe in your quote.

Do I need to move out?

Not usually for external work like roofs, eaves and fences. For internal work we seal off the work area and ask you to stay out of it until it has been cleaned and checked. We will tell you exactly what to expect before we start.

What happens to the waste?

All asbestos is double-wrapped in heavy-duty plastic, labelled and transported to a waste facility licensed to accept it. It never goes in a skip bin or general waste, and we leave nothing behind on site.
